Angie Van Heel is a mother, biotechnology professional, and LGBTQ advocate who has spent her life learning the importance of compassion, courage and unconditional love. As the mother of a transgender daughter, she has experienced the joys, fears, challenges and growth that comes with supporting a child as they discover and embrace their authentic identity. Angie will share her story to offer a heartfelt perspective on the transition that occurs not only to the individual questioning their gender identity but to those around them. She hopes her story will encourage greater understanding, compassion, and acceptance.
